Fantasy Football: Draft Do and Don't

Welcome to TimersSports

As you can see , I am focusing in on fantasy football drafts (you can view my other posts on the homepage). Anyhow last week , I focused on draft strategies and maxing drafting and positions potential. Today we will focus on do and don't for your drafts. Everyone have a different do and don't for drafts. So below I compiled an list of my own.

Do:

Do participate in mocks drafts - Participating in Mock drafts is an fantastic way to simulate your real draft for the upcoming season. Participating in mock drafts also a good way to get a feel on how draft picks could (or may) end up. So take notes and use them as comparisons as the summer goes on.

Don't:

Don't pass up an opportunity to draft running backs and Wide Outs early - Number of years ago , drafting a quarterback in round 1 was the logical choice. Unfortunately the talent level with backs and wide outs have so much potential. That being said , they are almost must drafts in the first two rounds. Especially if you are in deeper leagues with 14+ owners.

Do:

Do look for value picks - If you have ever played in a league with me before. Then you have probably realize I strictly look for value in round 5 and beyond. I find value picks to be some of the most important selection of your squad. They are like the glue. In other words , these picks are the building blocks around your superstars.

Do:

Do show respect for your leaguemates - I am all for trash talk. But there a fine line between trash talking and being disrespectful. Because let be honest , later in the season you might regret that when the all important trade deadline comes. I don't know about anyone ,but I wouldn't make a deal with someone who was being disrespectful. Especially  towards me during the draft. Would you?

Don't:

Don't draft idiotically - Don't draft idiotic sometimes is easier said then done. Mainly because our personal feelings/ emotions towards a specific individual. Example , I absolutely cannot stand Calvin Johnson. But doesn't means I wouldn't draft in a heartbeat. Always think about the potential before making a irrational decision.

Okay that's my list/guidelines i use for my drafts. Of course everyone have their own set of guidelines they are customized to. So if you want to use share your guidelines with me. Then send me a email : Mattaleza@yahoo.com
