RaceDay Thoughts -
Jeff Nathans (@JeffNathans18):
- I really like the Gibbs cars in tonight's race. They are all fast and I think all of them will be heavy contenders at Kentucky Speedway.
- The HMS cars (maybe outside of Chase Elliott) just don't have the speed lately to contend for wins and that isn't a good thing if you are counting Hendrick to be contenders for the championship
-Ricky Stenhouse Jr who will roll off from 21st place is definitely someone to keep an eye on in tonight's race. He haven't finished worse than 16th on 1.5 mile racetracks this season.
-I think one car will get out front and dominate, my gut says it will be Kyle Busch or Martin Truex Jr.
Garry Briggs (@Garryy12):
-Kyle Larson will be a force to reckon with if he get some track position. He starts 20th, but I don't expect him to stay there for terribly long.
-I really like Ricky Stenhouse for a solid low to middle teen finish tonight. He been consistent on this type of track, but I do feel like the window is closing to use him though. This could be one of the final really good chances to use him before the chase
- I don't hate Jaime Mac for tonight, which is something I cannot remember saying this season before now. I don't like him nearly as much as Larson, but he just may be good enough to be a legit top 12 to top 14 finisher. Something, I also haven't said too much this season
-Track position will what probably wins tonight's race
Matt Aleza (@MattAleza):
-Passing will be tough tonight, so you better get every you can on restarts
- Be watching out for Pole Sitter Kevin Harvick. He isn't getting the attention he should be. The pole sitter have won 2 of the first 5 races here. Including 2 of the past 3 overall. He has a fast car too.
- The RCR cars of Newman and Dillon are most capable of top 15 finishes (and maybe top 10 finishes too) tonight. I think they are too much under the radar. Newman more so than Dillon.
- I think the winner will come from the Gibbs camp or Kevin Harvick.
