RaceDay Thoughts for Pocono -
Jeff Nathans (@JeffNathans18):
-Rain will be a major factor in today's race and there is a good chance we don't even see any racing at all today.
-I think Harvick, Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson has the three best cars headed into the race. With Kurt Busch and the Penske cars right behind
-I like AJ Dinger starting from 32nd position as a monster position differential fantasy play in today's race
-Pocono is probably Smoke's best shot at going to victory lane. I cannot think of another track on the schedule that he will run quite as good at
Garry Briggs (@Garryy12):
- I think the RCR cars will be really good whenever we get this race underway
-I think Kyle Busch ends up in victory lane at Pocono and crosses another track off the list. Yes I know, I said this at Charlotte as well. But there is difference, Kyle has a car that is capable of winning. Last week, he had a good car that I thought the crew could fix up as the race went on. Didn't quite work out as I had hoped though.
-I honestly don't think we will get any racing in today sadly. The forecasts just don't seems to sound too good
-The Penske cars have found some more speed lately and they showed it in qualifying. However I still think they are a little off from backing it up in the race. Even though, I think they are very close to being heavy race-contending threats like we saw last season
Matt Aleza (@MattAleza):
-I really like Kyle Larson at Pocono and I think his NXS win will only gives that young man more confidence. Larson is closer than ever in my opinion from winning in the Sprint Cup series and it may come today
-Paul Menard surprised me with the speed he showed in both qualifying and practice this weekend. First time since Martinsville that he had showed anything, but then again he have ran well at Pocono in the past, he just haven't gotten the results. Will today be the day, he turns things around?
-Strategy will be a major factor, no matter when the race is actual ran
-Two drivers who I am not sure what to expect from is Carl Edwards and Martin Truex Jr. I think they will both be top 10 logically, but to me they're kinda of puzzles. One have good history here recently, but starts mid-pack. The other have a poorer track record but starts up front.
