We are turning our attention to Texas Motor Speedway for this Saturday night's race! Texas is an worn-out 1.5 mile D-shaped oval. Most commonly, this venue is compared to Atlanta (where he visited earlier this season). It commonly compared because of the big tire wear that, we see at both racetracks. Now I wouldn't go solely foucus on Atlanta's data, because not all the drivers will come to Texas and perform well. And same thing can be said about the drivers who underperform as well. I would keep tabs on the Atlanta race, but I would much rather look the other intermediate racetracks as well. Also taking a look at past track data from past couple seasons wouldn't be bad either.
Let get started!
A:
Start - Jimmie Johnson (7)
Bench - Joey Logano (9)
Reasons - I am going with Johnson, because he's the safest pick in the field and quite frankly I think Johnson will beat Logano by least a few positions. I think Johnson lead some laps and finishes up inside the top 3.
B:
Start - Carl Edwards (7), Austin Dillon (6)
Bench - Martin Truex Jr (7) and Kyle Larson (9)
Reasons - Well this grouping is pretty easy really. I am going to have to use two drivers from Edwards, Dillon and Truex. I am going with Edwards because I think he has a real shot at winning and Dillon because I have a feeling he will be strong as well. I would go with Truex, however he haven't finished inside the top 10 since Daytona. So waiting for him to show me something still!
C:
Start - Brian Vickers (7)
Bench - Chase Elliott (9)
Reasons - You know I really want to use a Chase Elliott start at Texas, but I am sticking to my plan of using Vickers. This could be Vickers final start in the 14 car and I am not going to miss out on using him. There will be plenty of chances to use him going forward!
