2020 NFL Predictions Week 12 (Part IV)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Chiefs at Bucs -

This is gonna be a fun game and might be a must-watch for most NFL fans! For me, this my favorite game of week 12 by far! There aren't a lot of good games on, but this is one of the few great ones! One side, you have Tom Brady and the Bucs! I think this team is easily capable of winning the SB! They have all the tools in front of them, but they are also very capable of losing in the first round, too. I think at this rate, they are the second or third wildcard team! Which means, they are likely headed to the NFC North or NFC West winner. Not horrible matchups for them, but It still be challenge as we really don't know what kind of team that we are getting on a weekly basis! If they lose this week, they are in real danger of playing themselves out o the wildcard position. I think the iffy relationship between the quarterback/head coach is the most worrisome part of this team. Bruce isn't afraid to lash out at his players in a public setting and Brady isn't use to that sort of thing.

The Chiefs are coming off a huge division win and will look to keep things rolling in week 12 vs a inconsistent Bucs' team. I don't think they can overlook them, because this Bucs team is capable of beating any team in this league on any given weekend. I think the Chiefs are the favorite in this one because they can do the same thing and they do it on a consistent basis! That is the biggest difference between these two teams!

Prediction - I think the Bucs are capable of winning this game, but I also believe the Bucs are capable of falling on their faces. I don't have to worry about that with the Chiefs. And that why I am going with the team that is consistent and has Pat Mahomes as the quarterback!

Bears at Packers -

This is one of the most storied rivalries in the NFL and they will face off for the 201st time on Sunday night football! I think this game means a lot more for the Bears than the Packers, though. I think winning vs the Packers is a big deal to the Bears' team and their fans. Even more so, I think the division race is over if the Packers win on Sunday night. I think things could change, but I just don't see the Bears coming back in the division. I think they have a very good defense, but that offense is just bad. Will Mitch make a difference? I think he makes some difference. I really do! I think that offensive line is bad enough, where you need a guy who can extend plays. However, I think as we seen last week vs the Colts you need to be able to run the ball vs this Packers team. Teams have found a lot of success with the run game, but I don't think they can run the ball on them. I think the Bears will need to look to the pass to win this game and that could be a problem, in my opinion.

The Packers have been awesome on offense this season and are the healthiest that they have all season. I am not worried about their offense, I am a lot more concerned about their defense. They held the Colts in check, until they decided to run the ball at will. If you don't commit to the run, I think you have no shot vs the Packers. Look at the three losses for the Packers? The other teams pounded the ball on every single drive. Especially in the second half! Why not? The Packers proven that they don't care about stopping the run and Pettine even said he don't care about stopping the run! When your DC says that on the record, you have big problems on your hands.

Prediction - Look, I am a huge Packers fan but I pick against them when I think they are truly gonna lose or have a good shot at possibly losing. I did vs the Vikings and I did vs the Colts. I don't think this is one of those weeks where they are going to lose. I don't think this team is unstoppable and I think they will have their fair share of problems with the Bears' defense. But I really just don't think the Bears' offense is good enough to put up enough points to win this game. I think Mitch gives them a better shot to win, but that is pretty much it, though.

Seahawks at Eagles -

The Seahawks are coming off a big win vs the Cardinals on TNF and will need to keep their winning ways up in week 12 vs the Eagles. I don't think the Eagles are a threat to them regarding playoffs' seeding, but they need to keep pace with the Rams. If they slip up and Rams wins, then I think them winning the division becomes a lot slimmer. I think the Seahawks are capable of making a deep playoffs run, but they need their defense to play like it did in week 11. They weren't great, but they did enough to help that high-powered Seattle's offense get the win.

The Eagles and the NFC East is just a big mess right now! I really don't think it matter who wins this division because the No.5 seed is probably sending them packing in the first round. Yeah and I am over 100% confident in that prediction, too. And personally, I don't think it will be the Eagles that win the NFC East. I think their schedule will be too much for them to overcome. I also don't believe that they are good on either side of the ball. Some of that has to do with injuries, but truthfully I don't think Carson Wentz is the man for the job anymore. He was really good those first few years, but he has been noticeably worse, since that injury he had.

Prediction - Give me the Seahawks in this one! I just don't believe in the Eagles at this point and I also just don't think the Eagles are good enough to stop Russell Wilson, either!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 12 (Part III)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Raiders at Falcons -

The Falcons had a shot last week vs the Saints, but really couldn't do much vs the Saints. And in the second half, the Saints finally pulled away and it ended up being a blowout instead. This week, things are much worse as they will be without star Wr Julio Jones! I don't think they have won a game all year (maybe 1 at best), when Julio wasn't in the lineup. Needless to say, it will be challenge for this Falcons' offense to put up big numbers vs a solid Raiders' team.

The Raiders don't get enough credit on how well they have played this season. They almost had Kansas City on SNF in week 11, but Pat Mahomes is still Pat Mahomes and he drove down the field on the game-winning drive. Still the Raiders are having a great season and Derek Carr is having a great season! He is the biggest reason that they are in a playoff position right now. That defense hasn't been great, but they don't get enough credit. They have stepped up time and time after this season to help Derek Carr and this offense. I think they will be enough vs the Falcons in week 12!

Prediction - No Julio Jones means I don't think the Falcons have a shot in this one. This offense goes when Julio Jones goes. I think Calvin Ridley is a very good WR, but he is not a No.1 WR in this league (at this time) and when Julio is out of the equation, I think we all see what happens to him. Give me the Raiders in this one!

Saints at Broncos -

The Broncos are in serious trouble at the QB position, as they will be without all of their quarterbacks this weekend. Instead, they will be using an RB and WR as their QBs vs the Saints. And on other side of the ball, the Saints will once again be without Drew Brees. Tough go for both teams, as they both will be using backups at the most important position. The difference is the Saints have good backups for this game and a much better overall roster. I don't think the Broncos are even close in terms of overall talent. Even if the Broncos had their starting QB (Drew Lock), I felt like the Saints would still win pretty easily! Headed into the weekend, I was heavily leaning towards the Saints in this one!

Prediction - As you can see up above, I have zero faith in the Broncos to pull this one off! I think the Saints will run away with this one and in the end it probably won't be that close!

49ers at Rams -

The 49ers have been hit hard by injuries and now they will have to face another tough matchup vs the Rams. The 49ers' season was over a long time ago, I don't see the point of them wanting to see games. But I do understand that all of these guys are competitors and want to win! With that said, I don't think it will matters much. I think the Rams are the far better team here on both side of the ball and they are very healthy! I think that is the biggest difference in this one, too. If the 49ers are mostly healthy at key positions, then I think this would be a great game. But the Rams are playing very well this season and have good shot as anyone to win the NFC this season! Two years ago, they did just that and made it to the SuperBowl!

Prediction - 49ers are still too beat up and the Rams should run away with this game! Not because the 49ers are so banged up, but because the Rams are that much better than the 49ers right now. I think the 49ers' schedule also has taken a toll on them. They have been playing playoff team after playoff team lately. And the results have been just about every single week. I expect week 12 to be the same!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 12 (Part II)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Browns at Jags -

The Browns are having a really great year and should make the postseason this season. I think them figuring out that they are rushing offense is key to their success. And props to Baker Mayfield for setting aside his ego and being committed to this offense. He isn't the focal point and he is fine with that. When the Browns play their best, they seem to be running the ball well. Last year, they were trying to make Baker that superstar. I am sure he is talented enough to be THAT guy, but with offense isn't built like that. At some point, I think he will have to take over a game. But for now, I think they should keep doing what they are doing on offense side of the ball!

That Jags won in week 1 and ever since have lost every week! The biggest surprise about that it a win over AFC South division leader, the Colts! I didn't see it coming in week 1, but kinda thought it was a fluke and they couldn't repeat it. Did I think they would go winless this long? No, but I also didn't think they were quite this bad. I will say that I do like some of the young talent that they have, but the problem is most of their players aren't gamechangers and that is part of their problem!

Prediction - Easy game to predict, as I fully expect the Browns to win this one! The Jags have given me no reason to think that they even have a shot in this game!

Giants at Bengals -

This is not a game that I am looking forward! The Giants aren't the worst team in the league, but there is nothing exciting about this team. I hope Daniel Jones can prove the doubters wrong, as a lot of people don't think they is talented. I think he is, but I don't believe that the Giants have put a good enough cast around him for him to find success in this league! I believe the Giants would be leading the NFC East right now, if they had Barkley still. I felt like he was the true playmaker on this offense. Like up above with the Jags, I think the Giants' biggest problem is the lack of gamechangers. I think the Giants have better players and some good enough ones where they can contend for wins.

The Bengals were one of the more young interesting offenses, before Joe Burrow went down with an ACL injury. I actually tuned into some of their games, just so I could watch him play. I don't think they are capable of winning another game this year, without him. This Bengals team will be very good in a few years, though.

Prediction - No Joe Burrow means I am picking the Giants pretty confidently! I don't think the Bengals are capable of moving the ball like the Giants are and their defense will be a liability.

Cardinals at Pats -

Trying to get a good read on the Pats this season has been next to impossible! After upsetting the Ravens, you would think that they could take down the Texans. And that no shade at the Texans (whom is a lot better than their record imo), but you thought this Pats' squad was finally starting to build some momentum after two straight wins. Instead, the Pats drop another game. This is probably one of the worst Pats' team in a while and it can't be too surprising, either. They lost a lot of starters on defense and offense. Brady is obviously the biggest one, but Cam Newton just wasn't a good enough replacement. He was probably the best on the market this off-season, but I didn't think he was the answer for them. He isn't a Pats' kind of quarterback, anyways.

The Cardinals are coming off a tough loss vs the Seahawks on TNF, but they are well rested now and will look to get back on track vs the Pats. I think the Cardinals are the better team on both side of the ball. I think this Cardinals team will run away with them at some point. I am still not crazy about their running game (outside of Murray), but I think they can create more than enough passing down field to win this game. If Arizona just keep doing what they are doing, I think they will end up being either the No.5 seed or No.6 seed. Maybe the No.7 seed, depending who the other two wildcard teams are!

Prediction - Pats are too inconsistent for my liking to pick them. I also believe that the Cardinals are simply just better than the Pats this season. Murray is playing like how the Pats were hoping that Newton would play in 2020. They are similar players, but Murray is just entering the league, though. Anyways, give me the Cardinals in this one!

Dolphins at Jets  -

Yeah, this one won't be much fun to watch. Honestly, anything with the Jets is probably a game I won't watching. God, they are just so bad in general. The Jets are basically the new Browns at this point, I don't think anyone wanna go there because they know what's the end result will end being. This is the worst team in the national football league and it might not be a competition anymore. I think it is either the Jets or Jags and at this point I am giving it to the Jets!

Dolphins are playing some good football season and that should be the case once again vs the Jets. To me, the Dolphins are loaded with talent but they are playing as a team. They don't make too many careless mistakes and seem to consistently move the ball in games. Even though, they did lose last week (I didn't see that coming) to the Broncos. I do believe that they are due for a bounce back win vs the Jets here in week 12.

Prediction - It's the Jets, I don't think anyone is stupid enough to pick them to win this game. So use your head and take the Dolphins in this one!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 12 (Part I)

NFL Predictions Week 12

Chargers at Bills -

Chargers been something else this season, I gotta admit! I love watching Justin Hebert ball out every week, but he has to because his defense is god awful! For crying out loud, the Jets put up three touchdowns vs the Chargers' defense! I think they can hang with any team in this league, but only when the Chargers offense is scoring at least 4 touchdowns. If they don't? Good chance, they will lose on that specific weekend. Even if they do score 4 touchdowns, sometimes they still end up losing. I will say that injuries are a big reason for this defense being so bad, but I wouldn't say it is the sole reason for their struggles, either.

I am not sure, if the Bills are even a top 4 team in the AFC. However, I certainly think they have all of the tools to give themselves a shot in the playoffs. I am not blown away by their run game, but they can move the ball down field and Josh Allen keep on improving as a passer in this league. I still have plenty of concerns on defense with them, compared to last year. But I think they have enough offensive power to win ballgames in big game situation!

Prediction - I know two things about the Chargers: They can score a lot of points and they give up a lot of points. With that said, they are facing a legit playoff team this week and for that reason I am picking the Bills. I also believe the Bills are the better team here on both side of the ball.

Titans at Colts -

The Colts were impressive in their win vs the Packers, but the Packers pretty much were giving that game to them. The Packers turned the ball over 5 times and it still took overtime for the Colts to win. I am not downing them as they played a legit playoff contender, but they wouldn't win that game in week 11 vs most teams. Which brings me to my biggest concern with them and that is their offense. They will only go far as their defense can lead them because their offense will always leave points on the field.

As for the Titans, they need to win this game because they can't afford another loss to the Colts. If they lose to the Colts for a second time, then I think it is over. They would be a full game back and then would need to finish a full game ahead in the standings. So they would basically need to gain two games over the next 5 weeks. It would be a very tall task to overcome. Especially with that defense, whom seem to give up a lot of yards each and every week. Their offense is still really good, but it can only win games for so long, too.

Prediction - This is a tough one to prediction, but I am going with the Colts on this one. I think they will end up getting the season sweep on the Titans!

Panthers at Vikings -

The Vikings rushed the ball nearly 30 times vs the Cowboys, but they still somehow ended losing that game! I really don't understand that one, as nine times out of ten they will get the win. But, they couldn't get defensive stops late and the Vikings failed to make the ball in their few series on offense. That is a really bad combination right there and usually lead to a bad outcome. I still believe this team has one of the better offenses in the league, but they will questionable until that defense is fixed!

The Panthers are coming off a big win vs the Lions and are looking to win another. I wouldn't say the Panthers are a really good team, but they are solid. There isn't many things that they do poorly. They play good defense and move the ball well on offense. They won't put up 30 points per game or pitch a shutout, but they are good enough to contend with most teams in this league on a weekly basis. If they can slow down the Vikings' offense enough, I think they have enough firepower to win this game!

Prediction - On one hand, there's the Panthers. I don't think they are a powerhouse by any means, but they do so many things well. Just a solid team overall. But they aren't great at anything and that what I feel like hurts them in losses. Then there's the Vikings, they do one thing great and that is running the football. And their passing weapons are legit. And that's why I am going with the Vikings. Their defense will keep it close, though.

2020 NFL Predictions Week 11 (Part IV)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Packers at Colts -

This is a really good team between two playoffs team in different conferences. The Colts are coming off a big-time win vs the Titans! Their defense has been the strength of this team in 2020 and Rivers don't gotta be perfect, either. I say their lack of a consistent run game is their biggest weakness. But I think they will be fine, long as they can keep Rivers upright and not turn the ball over. I think the Colts are the favorites headed into this game, honestly. The Packers have struggled vs these kind of teams over the last few years. Teams will great defensive front sevens and good offensive lines. Teams that can get to Rodgers are the ones who will have the best chance to beat him. If you pressure him, I always believe one of two teams happens: A) He will light you up. Or B) He will a very poor game all-around and probably commit some turnovers.

The Packers are getting healthy at the right time, as they will have Jones, Adams and Lazard on the field for the first time together since week 2. They are also expected to get their CB room completely healthy for the first time this season since week 4. But this will be a tall task against the Colts. They have advantages that are disadvantages for the Packers. They have a great defensive line, fast linebackers and a solid secondary. These kind of defenses give Rodgers fits. And the Packers' defense play it best when they can get to the quarterback and Pettine doesn't like to blitz with everyone and Colts only given up 7 sacks on the year. So the defense most likely won't get home that often, either.

Prediction - I am a Packers fan so I want to pick the Packers, but I think this game has the Colts' name all over it!

Chiefs at Raiders -

The last time the Chiefs and Raiders played, Las Vegas was able to pull off the big upset. But this time, I think things could be different. I believe the Raiders' defense is already at a disadvantage to start with. As most of their starting defense haven't been able to practice all week long due to being on the Covid list. To top that off, they have to face Patrick Mahomes. Facing this guy is tough on a full-week of practice, let alone none or very limited. The Raiders offense will probably have to pick up the slack and try to go head to head with the Chiefs' offense again!

The Chiefs have played great this season and really only had one bad game in 2020 vs the Raiders, otherwise things has been pretty smooth for this Kansas City team. I wouldn't say they been dominant as they were at times in 2019, but I certainly think they are capable of making another deep playoffs' run. Hard to bet against them right now!

Prediction - It would be nice to see the Raiders get the season sweep of the Chiefs, but I think Kansas City will take this one. Too much going against the Raiders in this one and personally think a lot would have to go their way again. Andy Reid rarely loses twice in the same year to the same team, either.

Rams at Bucs -

Maybe the best game of week 11? Hard to say if it will be, but these last few games on the schedule are gonna be so freaking good. This might be my personal favorite one. Both these teams are current Wildcard holders. The Rams would move back into first place in the West with a win, though. The Bucs will need some help by the Saints, though. They need the Saints to lose to re-grab the South's division lead. So yes a lot of things need to be decide between now and end of the season.

The Rams have been fun to watch for the most part and have a really solid offense. They run the ball more than anything, but Jared Goff has been effective when McVay needs him to step back and take control of the game. I personally think that defense have had a big say on how good this Rams' team has been in 2020 so far. Last year, I thought the defense was part of the reason why the Rams ended up missing the playoffs. Funny how that works, right?

The Bucs have been all over the place this season and they really haven't been consistent about what kind team they are. They been unstoppable, they have been mistake prong and they have been simply bad. Talent wise, I am not sure if there is any team that has more talent than the Bucs. But I also believe this team can't be trusted to deliver because all the mistakes they make sometimes. Defensively, they will make the Rams throw the football. I think they will what they did vs Green Bay. Stop the run and make the QB beat them through the air. That's their strength because then they can get after the quarterback with their pass rushers, etc.

Prediction - I am going with the Bucs in this one and hoping that I am right because I really could see it going either one, honestly.

2020 NFL Predictions Week 11 (Part III)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Jets at Chargers -

The Chargers have such a fun offense and fun QB, but man is that defense hard to watch sometimes. They are so bitten with injuries, their offense can't put up enough points to win a game. It don't matter how many points they put up, they usually don't stand a chance with that defense. I love Justin Herbert and everything, but he needs that defense to be better or his career will go to waste with the Chargers!

Then there's the New York Jets! This is in my opinion the worst football in the league and coached by one of the leagues' worst head coaches! The Jets are just bad all around and really have no idea what they are trying to do. If they were smart, they would be adding talent around Sam Darnold. Instead, the good players are leaving and they are putting their high drafted QB in a bad position! I have no faith in the Jets to win a game in 2020!

Prediction - Its the Jets, man. Give me the Chargers all day long!

Dolphins at Broncos -

The Dolphins have been awesome this season and frankly I didn't expect them to win this many games in 2020 and really nobody did. They already have more wins in 9 games (6 wins) in 2020 than they did in 16 games in 2019 (5 wins). They aren't anything special, but just been good all-around for the most part, honestly. The Broncos are headed in the opposite direction at this point. They have been hit with injuries, but Drew Lock isn't the answer. I know Broncos fans don't like hearing that, but I never really was high on him. You can tell a lot by a player by what he does with less talent and he wasn't good last year and haven't been good this year. Yes, injuries have played a big role. But even with everyone healthy, do you think the Broncos are a playoffs team? I don't. Not in the AFC West.

Prediction - I am not high on the Broncos as you can tell and as you can tell I am not a big fan of Drew Lock at Quarterback! I love what this Dolphins' team has been doing and I think they will get another win today over the Broncos!

Cowboys at Vikings -

The Cowboys just aren't very good and they are even worse without Dak Prescott! I know some people thought they could still make the playoffs without him, but they haven't won a game without him and couldn't with him, either. And that was mainly because of the defense, though. McCarthy just don't get it, in my opinion. I see a lot of things he is doing wrong in Dallas, he also did wrong in Green Bay. and Aaron Rodgers or Dak Prescott aren't walking through those doors to save him, either.

The Vikings are headed in the other direction. I felt early in the season, that they would go on a strong run later in the season. I said number of times that this Vikings team is really good and we will see it as the season goes on. People laughed at me, but they are legit a top 5 offense with all the weapons they have and the defense is learning and starting to come around. They should win today and that would mark their 4th straight win on the season. I really like what they are doing over in Minnesota right now!

Prediction - I think the Vikings will run it down the Cowboys' throats and at that point I think it is over. The Cowboys won't be able to stop the run and then Cousins will start throwing the ball. Yeah, it not looking too good for the Dallas Cowboys! Give me the Vikings!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 11 (Part II)

Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Eagles vs Browns -

Eagles and this whole NFC East is a mess right now! Man, I didn't think they would lose to the Giants. But turns out, it still anybody's division at this point in the season. Which is sad, which the Eagles are leading with only 3 wins after 11 weeks. The Eagles are healthier than they been all season, so I expected them to take care of business in last week's game vs New York. Did they? Nope! Now, they will have to face a good Cleveland Browns' team. I think the Browns are little overrated still, but they are very capable of winning here in week 11 vs the Eagles. What the Browns do so well is run the football. They do this better than most teams in this league. But they need to get the lead in the first half, because otherwise they will have to throw themselves back into it. I am not saying that Baker Mayfield can't, but I think this team is a lot better when they can run the ball and force their will on defenses. If they get a 3rd and long, then sure they will pass the ball. But once they get a lead, this team is freaking dangerous and hard to stop. Because they just drain the clock and really take over the game.

Prediction - I don't trust the Eagles, so I am going with the Browns in this one. They are simply just the better team here and seem to have an idea on what they are doing!

Falcons vs Saints -

The Falcons are entering this game will a lot on their shoulders. They have one of the better offenses in this league, but have lost several games this season because of their horrible defense. They have put together a few wins in their recent games. So maybe they are on the turn around? Maybe and No Drew Brees for the Saints will certainly help them out a lot. In fact, Hill will be making his first career start in today's game. So that could be really good or really bad for the Falcons.

The Saints need to keep winning in order to stay atop of the NFC South. The early reports are the Saints could get Brees back, after like week 14 or something. Which is incredible, considering that he have like 11 cracked ribs or something like that. Can the Saints survive without him? I think they are good enough, where yes they will likely be alright without him. Sean Peyton is no idiot, this isn't the first time that they been without him. They were great last season without Brees and they are hoping that this year team will respond the same way without their star QB!

Prediction - I want to say the Falcons will win this game because they certainly have all the tools to do so. But I don't know, Saints will be tough even with no Brees. All of the pieces are still there and I don't believe they are that much worse without Brees. And that is no disrespect towards Brees, either. In fact, it is respect for the team that is built around him and the Saints! I am going with the Saints in this one, but I don't feel great about it, though.

Bengals vs Washington -

I have been impressed by Joe Burrow, but he has ways to go in this league before he ''officially'' arrives in the league. He's in the league, but he is learning still, though. I love his talent and what could happen down the road for him and the Bengals. But he has gotten manhandled since against the Steelers now. And it no shame in that because they can do that to most teams out there, honestly. Joe just needs to keep his head high and keep doing his thing. They will be without their star running back in this one, though. As Joe Mixon has been placed IR. Not ideal for this Bengals team!

I picked Washington last week, but they came up short. I was impressed with them overall, though. They only lost by 3 to an underrated Lions team and Alex Smith played great overall. I was impressed by him, that is such a feel good story. The fact he can walk, let alone play is truly incredible! I think this Washington team has more talent than most people give them credit for! They have some really awesome young talent on this team and just need to keep adding talent and developing that said talent. If they can do that, then this team has a chance to be really good overall. They have been better than I thought they would be and aren't out of the division's race yet, either.

Prediction - Give me Bengals in this one. Joe Burrow have a big-time game is my feeling and Bengals bounce back in a big way!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 11 (Part 1)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Steelers vs Jags -

The Jags played a lot better vs the Packers most expected them to. But it should be noted, that punt return for a touchdown and several offensive mistakes by the Packers is what likely kept them in this game. Still it was impressive for young QB and a young team to go head to head with one of the better teams in this league. Howver, I believe things will be even tougher on Sunday vs the Steelers. This is one of the league's defenses, we are talking here with the Steelers. The Steelers' offense probably doesn't even matter here. If Jags can't score points, then nothing else really matters that much. I fully expect the Steelers to bring a lot of pressure, something we didn't see last week. But when the pressure got home late in the game, the Jags had no chance. And unless last week, I don't think they will run the ball.

Last week, I thought Steelers had one of it best offensive performances of their season. But their run game still not what it was a few years ago. James Connor still isn't running at the level, like he was in 2018. I also believe that this offense isn't what it was a few years ago, either. Overall, they been alright but not dropping 30 points on a weekly basis. But they don't need to with that scary defensive unit. If your boss asked you to produce 250 parts in a single day. Are you gonna produce 350? Nah you aren't trying to overwork yourself. Same thing with the Steelers. If they got the win in the bag, then why try to run up the score or something? No need!

Prediction - Sorry Jags, but going with the 9-0 Steelers on this one! They have a massive advantage in pretty much every single aspect!

Lions vs Panthers -

Lions got a must needed win in week 10 vs the Washington Football Team! Now, they will try to get another vs the Panthers! I thought last week game between the Lions and Washington Team Football was gonna be super close and it was. I am expecting more of the same in week 11, between these two teams. Once again, the Lions will be without their top WR. But the Lions should be able to still move the ball down field, though. I think their biggest issue as usual will be their defense. If they lose this game, then I bet you anything it will be because of their defense giving up big plays on the ground and through the air. They really don't do a lot of things very well on defense side of the ball. I think the lack of true playmakers is what put them in a big hole. Sure, there's some really nice players but I don't think any of them really can change the course of a game, though.

Panthers have been a nice surprise in 2020 for the most part. I think a lot of people thought that signing Teddy Bridgewater was a huge mistake and they would be a top 5 pick in 2021 draft. And really, they had done well with Bridgewater under center and missing CMC for most of the season already. On defense side of the ball, they have done a lot better than I expected, too. Overall, this team is just a solid all-around football team. I wouldn't say that they do anything great, but they do a lot of things really good and sometimes that is good enough to win some weeks. Last week, it wasn't but that was vs the Bucs. Nobody expected them to win. However, I think they have a shot this week vs the Lions. I think the Lions are more on their level than the Bucs were!

Prediction - Like last week, I am not sure if I should pick the Lions or not. I think the Lions' offense have a lot higher ceiling on offense than the Panthers do. But I think the Panthers have a better all-around team. I believe the Lions' defense is that much of an liability here. However, I am still gonna pick the Lions in this one because they have Matthew Stafford and he always give them a shot to win!

Pats at Texans -

The Pats really surprised me last week, when they upset the Ravens. I gave them no shot, but give some major props to Bill for getting his team ready to play. They didn't just roll over, they stood and fought and pulled out the big win. I don't think they will make the playoffs in 2020, but that is alright. These wins will help this team down the road, in my opinion. I am still not super high on the Pats, though. They are a little more healthy than they were a few weeks ago. But still, I have a lot of questions on both side of the ball.

The Texans are coming off a bad game vs the Browns. They really only put up 7 points vs Cleveland and the Browns could had ran the score up even more, if they didn't stop at the 1-yard line to bled the clock even more at the end. The Texans just don't have a lot to work with. Soon as they got rid of Hopkins, this team was headed in a different direction. They were already probably headed in that direction, but that took them out of contention. If you don't think one player make a different, then you are crazy. A top 5 skill position player can make a huge difference. And it has for Waston and this Texans' offense. The defense was never great, but the decline of offensive production really hurt them, in my honest opinion.

Prediction - I don't love either team in this game, but I am going with the Pats in this one. I just don't believe in the Texans right now. The Pats aren't great, but they are more than capable of pulling this win off. They are healthier and have enough talent to take care of business. Even though, I am pretty sure it will be a one-score game, though.

Titans vs Ravens -

The Titans are coming off a big loss on Thursday night football vs the Colts. That was a big loss that was their 3rd straight loss and things won't get any easier in week 11. As they will face the Ravens, whom is coming off a loss vs the Pats. So neither team is probably in a good mood after last week's prime time losses! So which team is in better position to win here? Well, the Titans probably should had won that game. Or at least been way closer. They controlled the game earlier on and really was neck and neck with the Colts, until the Colts' special teams unit took over. After that, it was all over for them. Even before that, the Colts seem to be gaining the momentum in the second half. I also believe the Titans had three problems vs the Colts: 1) their 29th rank pass rush struggled (again)! 2) They still couldn't keep Tannehill upright. 3) They couldn't slow the opposing offense down (again). Those three issues has been a problem all season and it will keep happening until something about it is fixed. They do have a great run game still, led by Derrick Henry and still have a really good passing attack. There is no question that the Titans can put up the points, but they also can't stop the opposing teams from putting up the points, either. If the Titans gonna keep winning, then they will probably need to start averaging like 30 points per game. Because that what it will take vs playoffs' teams!

The Ravens have their own set of problems, as they aren't nearly as good as they were a year ago. At this time last season, people were tabbing the Ravens as super bowl contenders and wondering how the league will slow down Lamar Jackson! A year later, the Ravens are less effective running the ball and have seen their defense decline in play. Two key elements on why last season's team was so impressive to begin with! I think Lamar Jackson is still a damn fine Quarterback and still gives teams a lot of problems when facing him. I don't believe that the Ravens' defense need to be great for the Ravens to win, either. I think they need to do better, but the Ravens are good enough to win with just good offensive production and less mistakes.

Prediction - This is a tough game to prediction, but I am going with the Ravens in this one. The Ravens aren't playing their best football right now, but I still believe they are better than the Titans. The problem with Tennessee is they are so bad on offense that they need to score 30 points almost every single week. And sometimes, not even that is good enough for them to win. And their run defense is very bad and you can bet that Ravens will take advantage of that!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 10 (Part IV)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions Week 10 (Part IV) -

49ers at Saints -

The 49ers are having a rough year and they coming off a complete embarrassment on TNF vs the Packers. I think most people expected that considering all the players that they were missing. And I wouldn't expect anything less in week 10 vs the Saints. The Packers are probably just slightly better than the Saints, but the difference isn't very much. The Siants, like the Packers, are very capable of putting up 30 points on the 49ers and this defnesive unit is actaully pretty good. Even with the injuries, they are still in top half of the league. But their lackluster offense will doom them and give them a very little chance to win this game. I have no faith in their offense. They put up just 55 rushing yards on TNF and running the ball is their strength typically.

The Saints blew out the Bucs on SNF and now the No.1 seed in the NFC. But they have Seattle and Green Bay (they lost to them already) hot on their tails. The Siants have to keep winning because soon as they do then they are probably jumping down to a wildcard seed again. The Saints are probably one of the best teams in this league right now overall and the return of Michael Thomas is huge for them. However, I don't think they are as good as the last two years. Still really good, but I don't get the same vibe that they are head and shoulders above everyone else. And that says a lot aobut the NFC as whole more than it does the Saints, in my opnion.

Prediction - I am going with the Saints in one, as I think the 49ers have a lot of things to overcome to win this game and I think it will be too much for them. Saints by 14 points in this one!

Ravens at Pats -

Heading into the season, I thought the Ravens would be the favorites in the AFC North. But I thought the Steelers would give them all kind of fits and maybe steal the divison away from them. Well it's week 10 and the Ravens are two games back. Not because the Ravens haven't played well because they are currently 6-2 and one of the league's best two. They are a first place team in most divisions right now. However, I think Lamar Jackson is coming back down to earth and teams has figured him out a little. He is still one of the league most entertaining players, though. On defense, I am not sure if they are good as last year's team, either. Still, this team will probably win between 11 and 14 games and have a great shot to make a deep postseason run!

The Pats are headed in the other direction for the most part and they will most likely have a top 10 draft pick when the season is over with. I think the Pats lost too many players for them to be any good in 2020. I think the loss of Brady was huge, but they also lost some other key players. I think the addition of Cam Newton was a good one. But he wasn't ever an elite player in this league. Sure he was awesome in 2015 and have had some good seasons, but he never top 5 good. His passing skills always been in questioned and in New Enagland you have to pass the football. I also think the injuries have really taken a toll on him, too.

Prediction - Give me the Ravens in this one. They have the advantage at pretty much every single position and should win this one pretty easily. The Pats aren't the same team that they were under Tom Brady!

Vikings at Bears -

I said very early in the season to someone, I thought the Vikings would eventually get it going and I believed that would have to start with making the gameplan around Davlin Cook. Well, the Vikings figured that out and now have won back-to-back games and could win three straight on Monday night! This Vikings' offense is too  talented for them to not be good. I think their defense is bad, but they are getting better as the season goes on. I thought this team would end up with between 6 and 8 wins and I say that very possible at this rate, honestly. They need to keep running the ball with Cook and let that open up the pass for them! You don't want the ball in the hands of Cousins on every play becase we all know what happens eventually!

The Bears will only go far as their defense wil take them and sure they can beat average teams out there with that bad offense. But their run game is non-existence lately and Nick Foles is doomed once the pressure get to him. That offensive line is also beat up. Looking down the road, I think they are in huge trouble with two games with Green Bay left. Heck, if they drop this game vs the Vikings, I think there should be major panic in Chicago. 3 games back in the division would be a huge hole to fall into. And with this offense? They will likely lose a couple more before the season is over. A lot will be hanging in the balance on Monday night!

Prediction - I have watched most Bears games this season (since I am in area for games) and that offense is just horrible. They even switching playcaller this week, but I don't think that will matter too much. Their run game still is lackluster and they don't really have any weapons on offense that isn't Allen Robinson. Some decent players, but none of them can change a game, though. The Vikings have multiple players that can change the course of a game. And that's the difference between these two teams. Sure, the Bears have a legit defense, but I don't know if that is enough. Wasn't vs the Saints or Titans. And that why I am picking the Vikings to pick up another big division win!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 10 (Part III)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions Week 10 (Part III) -

Broncos at Raiders -

I want to believe in this Broncos' team, but I have two problems with them: A) they have too many injuries to actually be good! 2) I don't really believe that Drew Lock is the answer for them in the short term or long term. No disrespect to him, but I never felt like he was a good pick when they selected him a few years ago. And he really haven't changed my mind. Yes, I know the inury bug really hit them this season. So I guess I should wait until next year to actually make a call on him, but I am not holding my breath on him. Overall I am not high on the Broncos this week. I fully expect them to get beat by the Raiders here in week 10!

Raiders have played really well this season and should make the playoffs, long as they keep playing like they have. I will admit that they are inconsistent at times and have dropped some games that they shouldn't had. However, Derek Carr is playing really well and I really questioned if they could return to form after that horrible leg injury. It took him a few years, but he is playing like it! I think it helps that they went out and upgraded their defense and added some offensive pieces to their team! I think this Raiders can be dangerous down the road, if they get into the playoffs and get the right matchups.

Prediction - I am not high on the Broncos and I believe the Raiders are the more well-rounded and healthy team. Don't overthink this one and go with the Raiders at home!

Seahawks at Rams -

Seattle is coming off a bad loss vs the Bills in week 9 and will look to rebound here in week 10. Russell Wilson has played amazing in 2020, but he is starting to rack up the turnovers because he is asked to do everything. I don't think their run game is as strong as it was in years past and they can't keep anyone healthy at RB. To make matters worse, they are on pace to have the worst pass defense in NFL HISTORY by like a 1000 yards. Guys, do you know how bad that is?  This is extremely worrisome from this team because they won't make it far in the playoffs. Think of the best teams in the NFC right now? Saints, Bucs, Packers, etc. What do they do well? They throw the ball! Yeah. And what do they do well on defense? Stop the pass! I am not making any predictions for January, but Seattle could be in trouble!

The Rams have a chance coming off a bye to close in and take the division lead! I believe they are more well-rounded team than the Seattle, but aren't on their level on the offense side of the ball! Like I mentioned a couple times this season, I get more 2018 vibes from this Rams team than I do 2019 (last year) vibes from them. With that said, I don't think they are as good as they were in 2018. However, they have a good healthy defense this season and Jared Goff is playing much better! I think not having Todd Gurley and force feeding him is huge as well. McVay is a great playcaller, too!

Prediction - This game could go either way, but I am going with Seattle in this one! I think they have different makers at WR and a quarterback that can take over a game on any drive. I think Rams have a more well-rounded roster, but they aren't nearly as explosive, though. Seattle is li believe have good enough offense to make up for their poor defensive play!

Bengals at Steelers -

I love what this young Bengals' team have done overall, but this will be a tough task taking on the undefeated Steelers! They are something else on defense side of the ball. Their front 7 is scary good and in my opinion the best in the league. When they decide to take a game over, I don't think there is an offensive line that can stop them. I do like what this Bengals team has done in 2020 and should be huge for helping them bulid their team going forward. But I don't think they much of a chance in this one vs the Steelers!

As I mentioned up above, I think Steelers have best front 7 in football and probably the best defense overall, too. I am still not 100% in on the offense, but is easily good enough for the Steelers for make a deep playoffs run. Will they go undefeated? Hard to say, but it's not crazy to think overall. I picked the Steelers to win the division back in the off-season because I thought that they could do it alone with just decent offense play. Especially since their defense basically dragged them to 8 wins in 2019 with basically no offense to speak of. So obviously having Big Ben should take them to the next level and so far it has.

Prediction - Good luck to the Bengals, but I don't give them a fighting chance in this one. The Steelers will take control of this game early and then it is pretty much all over for them

2020 NFL Predictions Week 10 (Part II)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions Week 10 (Part II) -

Jags at Packers -

The Jags are one of the worst teams in the league, in my opinion. They won that first game, then they been really bad since then. So in total, they are on a 7-game losing streak and they really don't do anything well. They don't run the ball overly well, don't really have a good passing game or a legit WR (at this point, some nice young players though) or do antyhing well on defense. I say every single week, you have to do something well to have a chance to win in this league. A few years ago, this Jacksonville team was on the upswing. But then the players on defense started to leave and the Jags failed to restock that defense. Now, you have a mess on both side of the ball.

The Packers are the opposite of the Jags and they are getting healthy. I don't think we seen the Packers play their best offensive football yet and they been a top 5 offense through week 9. I think them having back Aaron Jones, DBak, Jammal Williams and Tyler Ervin all at the same time for the first time since Week 4 is huge. The Packers can do so many things with a healthy offensive line/running back room. It will really open up the pass game, too. I have a lot of questions about this Packers defense still, but I am not worried about them vs the Jags. I don't think the Jags are capable of doing too much vs the Packers defense and that says more about the Jags than the Packers!

Prediction - It is hard for me to pick the Jags in this one and frankly I don't think it is close. The Packers have the advanatge in nearly every aspect across the board. The biggest difference being Quarterback and most team don't stand a chance when the talent gap is noticable at QB vs the Packers. Green Bay by a lot!

Bills at Cardinals -

The Bills are coming off a huge win vs the Seahawks and will look to have more success vs the NFC West! However, they are traveling to Arizona this weekend. I still love what this Buffalo team brings, though. I think this year's team isn't nearly as good as last year's defense. However, I do believe that the offense is a lot better than it was a season ago. I also believe that they are still capable of afffecting a game on defense side of the ball. But Josh Allen's improvement as a quarterback also is impressive. He is the biggest difference between the 2019 and 2020 team. Having a guy like Diggs as your top WR also doesn't hurt! I do have some concerns about their run game, though. I am not a fan of their running backs overall. They are alirght, but I am not crazy about them hoenstly.

It is hard to really judge this Cardinals team, honestly. They beat Seattle this season, but also dropped games to the Lions and Dolphins. Not throwing shade at team, but they aren't elite. And at times this Cardinals team haven't looked like a playoff contender, but they have at other times. They have talent, though. Kyler Murray will give them a great shot at winning this divison, if they take care of bussiness. I believe Murray paired with that defense is good enough to win the NFC West! I believe his style of play gives other teams in the NFC West fits and that's a problem for Seattle and LA. As for this week, I am not really sure what to expect from them vs the Bills. These are similar teams really. Both have a moblie QB, lackluster running backs, a new big additional WR1 (via trade) and defense that are good but not great. I see a lot similar things in these two teams!

Predicition - Good luck picking in this one! I have no idea who gonna win, but I am going with the Cardinals on this one. When in doubt, I try to go with the home team. But truthfully, these teams are so close that I have no confidence in that pick! This will be heck of a game!

Charagers at Dolphins -

This game is exciting and it will feature two of the more exciting young QBs in the league from this past draft! Justin Herbert has proven that he is worth every ounce of the hype and Tua Tagovailoa will be making his third career start on Sunday afternoon! He haven't proven himself as much as Herbert, but man I love this kid's potential! The Chargers are fun to watch right now with Herbert leading the team, but that defense is just awful this season. The Chargers almost have to put up 30 points per game to even have a shot at winning games. There's some games this season that they lost that they should had won, but the defense couldn't get a stop to save their lives! Sadly for the Chargers, I doubt things will any different in week 10!

Dolphins has surprised me and a lot of other people by how well they have played in 2020! Don't get me wrong, we all knew that this team stacked a crapload of draft picks for this past draft. However, if you bulid through the draft, then it typically takes a few years to be good. Esepcially with a new coach, but no they are looking real good right now! They might not win the division, but they will have a real good shot at a wildcard spot if they keep up with their winning ways. Overall, it has been just a consistent solid effort for this whole Dolphins' team!

Predicition -  This will be a dog fight, but the trends say two things about these two teams! The Dolphins don't get blown out and the Chargers' defense isn't good enough to keep a lead. Which makes me believe that the Dolphins will win this game!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 10 (Part I)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions Week 10 -

Texans at Browns -

Tough game to predict, really. The Texans aren't nearly as bad as they appear and been competitive for the most part in 2020. But they can only work with what they are given, though. I don' think they really do anything great, but they have Waston and that always gives them a good shot to win on any weekend given weekend. Their defense is what loses them game, though. No real consistent pass rush and they can't really stop the pass or the run that well. This defensive unit is not very good and they have shown that on a weekly basis. If they lose here again in week 10, I think you can point at the defense once again. I believe the offense will give them a fighting chance in this one!

I still have questions about the Browns and still not sold on them. I thought they would miss the playoffs headed into the season and I will admit that they done better than I thought they would. But they seem to do the best when they have a healthy run game and that appears to be the case here in week 10. I wouldn't expect the Browns to depend on Baker Mayfield and the passing attack as much as they did in their last game. On defense, I think this unit don't get enough credit. Even though, I am not super high on this group on that side of the ball.

Prediction - Hard to say which way this one goes. I don't believe the Browns are good enough to head and shoulders better than the Texans But I also believe that the Texans have a lot of weaknesses and some of them put them at a major disadvantage. The Browns are the better team here and I am going say the better team will win this one!

Washington at Lions -

For all of the turnover in the Washington organzation and all the changes that has happened recently, they have done pretty well in the 2020 season. They haven't been great, but they are still alive in the NFC East. The worst division in football, but they still have a chance at this thing right now! Defensively, I actually been really surprised! I didn't expect them to be this good and their offense has been a lot better than expected. They have some nice young pieces that are making plays on a weekly basis!

Lions haven't really done better than I expected, but at the same time they have done better than they did in 2019. But they have dropped all three games within their division so far and has proven that they don't have a defense capable of slowing down anyone. On offense, their best players also can't seem to stay healthy and Matthew Stafford can also do so much. He is very talented, but he can't take his team to that next level like the greats can. And that no disrespect to him, as there only a few like that in NFL history.

Prediction - Overall, I am not sure who to pick in this one. I say the Lions have best player (Matthew Stafford), but he will be without their best weapon on Sunday. I think Washington have a better overall team. They have a top 10 WR and a rookie running back that keep making plays. They also have a really underrated defense, too. Which is why I am going with Washington in this matchup!

Bucs at Panthers -

Bucs are coming off their worst game of the season, where they were dominated in every aspect by the Saints! The Bucs didn't do anything right and they lost by 35 points! I think they will bounce back just fine and get back to themselves more in week 10! But I think we saw a little what we can expect from this Bucs' team on a regular basis. They aren't THAT bad, but this team is prong to mistakes and that will be an issue going forward. I don't just expect their mistakes-like nature to just go away. It is something Brady and the Bucs will have to work at and overcome it. I also want to note that the Saints have a really good offense and defense. So 3 or 4 mistakes will do that to a team.

The Panthers are just a solid-rounded football team. They aren't anything special or do anything elite, but they consistently get results on a weekly basis. They might not win every week, but they aren't an easy out like everybody was thinking before the season. Teddy Bridgewater has outperformed what has been expected out of him and they run the ball well. With or without CMC, and yes he will be out again this weekend vs the Bucs. I think they would have a lot better shot in this game with him, but I don't expect this Carolina team to just lay down for the Bucs, though.

Prediction - I would love to say the Panthers in this game, but I don't think they have the firepower to beat the Bucs. I believe that their best shot is if the Bucs have a lot of mistakes and they can take advantage of it. We seen a few teams do that this season vs them. Talent wise, I think the gap larger than I am comfortable with. So with all of that said, I am going with the Bucs in this game!

Eagles at Giants -

What an ugly divison this is in the NFC East! The Eagles are probably by far the best team (especially with Cowboys without Dak), but the Eagles been hit hard this season with the injuries. If they were in any other division, then I am willing to bet that their season is already over. But instead, they are in control of the NFC East. However, the Eagles are getting healthy at the right time and are easily my pick to win the NFC East and eventually host a playoff game in January!

The Gaints are so and so, but they will put up a good fight against the Eagles! I know a lot of people are hard on the Gaints and Daniel Jones. However, I don't believe that Daniel Jones is the issue here. Your casual fan will say he is bad, but the Gaints put him in a spot from day 1 to fail. I don't believe any QB could have success in New York right now. They literally have failed to put any talent around him that gives him a chance to win the division. With that said, this Gaints team works with what they have and usually are in most ballgames until the talent gap becomes too much late in the games. I expect things to be no difference here in week 10!

Prediction - I want the Gaints to win, but in the end I believe the Eagles will pull away and prove to everybody again why the Gaints need a better team around Daniel Jones! I have the Eagles winning more than 7 points.

2020 Fantasy Nascar DGG Picks (Phoenix)

 Welcome to Timerssports

Fantasy Nascar DGG Picks

A:

Starter - Brad Keselowski

Bench - Joey Logano

Reasons - Back at Richmond, the NBC broadcast said that Keselowski was using the same car he dominated with at New Hampshire. And they also noted that they will bring the same car to Phoenix. Well, Keselowski went to lead almost 200 laps at Richmond and won. He did the same thing at New Hampshire. Sometimes, it is a good thing to keep important info stored away. I don't think a lot of people remembered that, so hopefully that gives me the edge over the competition!

B:

Starters - Ryan Blaney and Kurt Busch

Bench - Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer

Reasons - I have one start left with each Blaney and Busch, so I am gonna roll with them. They are in good equipment and should content for top 10 run on Sunday's afternoon. I think Aric Almirola is also very close to them and should run as equally well. Bowyer isn't too far off, either as he is known to run well on these kind of tracks.

C:

Starter - Tyler Reddick

Bench - Ty Dillon

Reasons - A few weeks ago, I forgot to put Reddick in my starting lineup so it really saved my points day. But I probably should had used him more earlier in the season, but that's okay. This was a super deep group in C in 2020, so I am good with it.

Dark Horse - Ryan Blaney

Winner - Brad Keselowski

2020 Fantasy Nascar Sleepers & Dark Horses (Phoenix)

 Welcome to Timerssports

It is the final race of the 2020 season and that makes me big sad, guys. I am always a little sad when we get to the championship weekend. Because it means this is my final chance to help my readers with their lineups. For all of the good content that I post (and I feel like I help a lot of people, I can't help but to think that there more I could had done during the season. Hopefully, everybody enjoys what info this blog brings because I have a lot of fun writing these articles. I am not always in the mood, but I have fun doing them once I start. Thank you so much to everybody whom has taken time to read this blog over the past 9 or 10 months, etc. But we have a job to finish this weekend at Phoenix and then we can take a little break. Sounds good? Alright let's roll!

Sleepers -

Aric Almirola - Aric went on a super strench of races at one point in the 2020 season, where he knocked off like 9 straight top 10 finishes. After that, he went back to his normal self. Being good, but also being inconsistent sometimes. On his best days, he will be a threat for a top 10 finish and maybe a little more. At Phoenix, he has been at his best over the last few seasons. And this season on these shorter flat tracks! He has yet to finish worse than 8th place on these shorter flats in 2020 season and he has finished 5 of his last 6 at Phoenix in the top 8, too. To further strength his case, he has a career-best 14.9 average finish in 19 starts at Phoenix, which makes that his best average finish of any track. He also has a 10.1 average finish over his last 7 races here, which is 4th-best among all tracks. I also want to note that these shorter flats has always been where Aric has performed and finish the best on.

Clint Bowyer - Bowyer haven't had a great season, but this will be his final season as a full-timer driver. As he is stepping away from being behind the wheel and moving on to a role with Fox Sports. I have given Clint a lot of crap over the years, but a lot of that because I knew what he was capable of. He never really got to the star level status that a lot of people gave him credit for, but he knew how to pull out wins from time to time. I feel like he was at his best when MWR was at it peak. He never really climbed to that next level at SHR, like many expected him to. But the one consistent thing is did well was run well at certain kind of track. He was always a good fantasy pick on short tracks, shorter flats and road courses. Phoenix is a shorter flat track and he has been a top 10 driver on this kind of track in 2020.

Dark Horses -

Ryan Blaney - Awhile back someone asked me, ''What happened to Ryan Blaney?'' And you know, I don't think anything happened to Ryan Blaney. I think the schedule to start the playoffs was very unfavorable to him. I felt like he would show that he is one of the best drivers in the series over the last 4 or 5 races. And he been a top 5 driver in each of the last 4 races. In fact, he has finished in the top 7 in 5 of the last 6 races. Blaney has been on it and he has ran very well at Phoenix over the past few seasons. Not a great average finish, but boy he has performed well during the races. In 3 of his last 4 races here, he has produced a driver rating above 100. For whatever reason, he seem to run well here at Phoenix.

Kurt Busch - I am not saying that he gonna win this weekend (he won't), but he has been pretty good on speed all season and has been pretty consistent at Phoenix over the past couple seasons. In 4 of his last 5 races here, he has finished in the top 11. In the last 12 races here, he has finished 9 times in the top 11, too. Kurt just simply finishes well here at Phoenix. Earlier this season, he also finished in the 6th posiiton. I have concerns since his performance on the shorter flats in 2020 sugguests that he is a teen-driver. But I have a good feeling that Kurt can run in the top 10 this weekend and maybe some more.

2020 NFL Predictions Week 8 (Part IV)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

49ers at Seahawks -

This would be the game of the week, if it wasn't for the Steelers-Ravens game. But this one will probably generate a lot of points. Both of these teams are banged up, but both teams can score points. I don't believe this 49ers defense is as good as last year. But they can run the ball still and their coach is an excellent play designer. While the Seahawks have the league's highest scoring offense through week 7. However, they have a bad defense and proven very often this season that their offense gotta win games for them. It does seem like their run defense is pretty good, but teams are going over the top and passing the ball. They will run into problems vs good passing teams in the playoffs.

I am not sure if the 49ers matchup well vs the Seahawks for the fact that the 49ers' strength is running the ball and that's the strength of Seahawks' defense. But the 49ers can pass the ball, though. I do believe this game will come down if the 49ers can slow down Russell Wilson or not. This 49ers had problems with mobile quarterbacks like Russell Wilson. Ealier this season, they lost to Kyler Murray and the defense was a lot more healthy, too.

Prediction - This will be a really good game, but I am going with the Seahawks in this one. They are a mismatch for the 49ers I think. They do one thing really well on defense that the 49ers want to do and that is stop the run. And I just don't see the 49ers doing enough to slow big game Russ.

Cowboys at Eagles -

Sound as Dak went down, I thought the division was good as the Eagles and they have put together a few good wins since then. Not great wins, but good enough for them to pull away in the division. I know some people thought that the Cowboys might be alright with Andy Dalton. But little did everyone know that the team has given up on this coaching staff. They are loaded with offensive talent, but it means nothing if your players don't respect the coaches or the style of play. I don't think the Cowboys will win another game this season and I think most of the players feel the exact same way.

Prediciton - Cowboys are done. Eagles by a lot in this one!

Bucs at Gaints -

The Bucs are starting to round into form and are very much in the running for the top seed in the NFC this season. Brady is playing better than he has earlier in the season and the Bucs are cutting down on the msitakes. To add on that, they are getting healthier at the right time, too. I love the outlook of this team going forward and think they are the heavy favorites to win the South and possibly take the No.1 seed.

The Gaints are headed in the other direction. They have played well at times, but they also aren't that good. I like what I see in Daniel Jones, but he need a better supporting cast around him. He has alright players, but there no player on this offense that is a star. Barkley was the closest thing to that and that offensive line couldn't block worth a damn for him to do anything.

Prediction - Going with the Bucs and I don't really think this should be a Monday night game.

2020 NFL Predictions Week 8 (Part III)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Pats at Bills -

The Pats haven't been overly good this season and that was expected. They lost Tom Brady and then multiple other pieces. They weren't suppose to be good this season and I think the fact that people thought otherwise is just credit for that coach they have. I respect Bill and think he is great, but there is no coach out there that could realistically win 10 games with this team. Newton isn't the same guy he was back in 2015, before the injuries piled up and offensively they aren't loaded with weapons. And on defense side of the ball, they saw a lot of players opt out o the season or opt out for other teams.

Heading into the season, many considered the Bills to be the favorites for the East. Especially, after how they played during the 2019 playoffs and adding pieces to their team in 2020. I don't believe that defense is nearly as good as it was in 2019, but that offense is better and I think they are perfectly fine with that trade-off. They can win games by scoring points, not relying on other teams not scoring points.

Prediction - I think the Bills are better team on both side of the ball and they will prove that vs a banged up Pats' team!

Raiders at Browns -

Raiders beat the Cheifs a few weeks ago and then was taken apart in the second half vs Tampa Bay. I gotta give the Raiders some credit, though. They were in control of that game until around halftime, then the Bucs took over and took control. As for the Browns, they are coming off another win. However, they did lose ObJ for the season. A lot of people think that is a massive lost for them, which I agree to a lesser extend. He will be a lost, but I don't think most people realize how below average he has graded out on the field this season. Make no mistake, this team will live and die by how they run the ball. Look at last week's game? They couldn't run the ball, so they fell behind by 20 points. They had to pass the ball to get themselves back into it. That isn't what they prefer to do, though.

Prediction - I am going with the Browns in this one.  Raiders have been inconsistent and I don't think the Raiders will shut down their run game.

Chargers at Broncos -

Justin Herbert has been so fun to watch here in 2020 and this kid is the real deal! It helps that he has a good offensive supporting cast around him, though. Regardless, I don't think this week's game will be close beteen the Chargers and Broncos. I think the Broncos have great promise in the future, but I don't think Drew Lock is that guy for them. And even if he was, they are missing several of their best players. That's rough for them and I think the Chargers would win regardless.

Personally, I don't believe that the Broncos winning would be a good thing anyways. They aren't gonna contend for a playoffs spot, so I would take many losses as possible to improve their draft pick spot. However, I know how sports work and players aren't wired like that. They will try hard as they can to win, but I just think the Chargers are the better team overall with the better players in this one.

Prediction - Chargers by 9 points in one is my prediction. I like Justin Herbert and I like the offensive weapons that they have over in LA.

Saints at Bears -

Saints are in really bad shape for WRs in this game and will have to face a really good Bears' defense. I would feel good about Saints winning this game vs a below average Bears' offense. However, I really don't know who will this game. The Saints might win this one, but at the same time they might not. I don't believe that the Bears are good on offense and might be one of the worst in the league. However, they are good enough to win this game, if the defense play well.

Both of these teams are kinda in a similar both in their division. The loser probably gonna lose touch in their division. No, think about it. the Saints are playing the Bears this week and then the Bucs. The Bears play the Saints this week and then the Titans. The loser easily could drop both games and their division leader could easily win both game. With being a game behind? It would be really bad!

Prediction - Hard to predict this game because I see it going either way. Bears have the better defense, but the Saints still have Drew Brees without most of his favorite targets. But they still have Kamara, whom many consider him as a top 5 running back. So I am gonna go with the Saints in this one, but I am not condifent in it!

2020 NFL Predictions Week 8 (Part II)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions -

Colts at Lions -

The Colts are a tough team to figure out, honestly. They have a really good defense, but their offense is very lackluster so far. Rivers has been alright, but he really haven't great. And their running game is head and shoulders better than the competition. And that's a problem, because to be really good you need to be elite at one of those things.

Then there's the Lions, they have lost both of their division games this season. However, they gotten three wins and should challenge this Colts' team. Make no mistake about this Lions' team, they are good enough to give most teams out there problems. They may not score points every game, but they aren't gonna put them away early in the game. Stafford is still a very good quarteerback and they some good weapons on that offense.

Prediction - I am tired of betting on the Colts and hoping their offense will show up. They have screwed me a few times this season and the Lions are trending in the right direction it seems. Give me the Lions in this one!

Steelers at Ravens -

Game of the week! The Steelers and Ravens are two of the very best teams in this league and they will square off here in week 8. The Steelers has maybe the league's best defense and an improving offense. Truthfully, I don't think it matters how good that offense (which is already pretty good) with how strong that defense is. They aren't a shutdown defense, but they get in the backfield so often that they always will have a chance to flip a game upside down. They will have to do that vs Lamar Jackson. I love Jackson, but he gonna have to air it out some or be running for their live on Sunday's afternoon.

And I am not disrespecting the Ravens' defense, because they are very good as well. I don't think they are as good as they were a year ago, but still they could give the Steelers some fits in this game. But I don't think that will win this game. If they wanna win this game, I think they have let Lamar Jackson be Lamar Jackson in this game!

Prediction - This game is a tough one to pick, but I am going with the Ravens in this one. Truthfully, I usually go with the home team if I am undecided and I really don't see either team with a true advantage over the other one.

Rams at Dolphins -

The Rams are coming off a big win vs the Bears and the Dolphins are coming off their bye. The Dolphins also are changing QBs, too. Ryan Fitzpatrick has led the Dolphins to a respectable record, but he also hasn't played too hot, either. They been winning, but he hasn't been lights out. And the team has been super impressed by rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa! I really hope that Tua gives them a shot at the playoffs and he just might if the hype is indeed real for him!

The Rams has played a lot better than they did in 2019 and certainly still in the division race in the NFC West. Especially with Seahawks losing on Sunday night Football in week 7. The Rams run the ball better than most teams out there and Jared Goff has been solid. The Rams don't ask him to drop back every single down and that make defenses respect their run game. I wouldn't say that they are on the same level (offensively) as two years ago, but I get similar defensively vibe, though.

Prediction - I think Dolphins will play well in this game, but it is very hard to pick against the Rams in this one! I say the Rams by a touchdown or so!

2020 NFL Week 8 Predictions (Part 1)

 Welcome to Timerssports

NFL Predictions Part 1 -

Titans at Bengals - I love Joe Burrow and his future in the NFL, but the future is now in Tennesssee for the Titans. They have all the pieces to be a legit contender, even though they have to what many consider to be the best two teams in the AFC this year. That doesn't change the fact that they are really good. I think that defense will hold them back, but that offense is scary good. As for the Bengals, they have some really nice pieces and this should be considered a successful year for the fans of the Bengals.

I personally don't believe that the Bengals have a shot in this game because I don't think the Bengals can slow down the Titans' rushing attack and they just don't turn the ball over that much. To beat the Titans, you need to stop the run and make them committ turnovers. Two things, in which I don't see happening in today's game!

Prediction - I am going with the Titans by 10 points in this one. I hope it is a close game because I am rooting for this Bengals' team keep buliding for the future!

Vikings at Packers -

Most people are saying this is a easy win for the Packers, but I disagree. And I am a huge Packers an, so that should tell you something. I think Vikings get overlooked because of their record and that is wrong. They lost by a point to the Titans and lost a point to the Seattle(led by two touchdown at halftime). Trust me, they are a lot better than a one-win team. Davlin Cook will be back and they have a scary one-two punch at WR!

And no disrespect to the Packers, because this is a really solid football team! They simply don't make mistakes on either side of the ball. Yes, even on defense side of the ball. They aren't great, but they are good enough with the way Aaron Rodgers and the offense has played. I still have questions about their run defense, but they are playing a lot better than they were a year ago. I am more concerned about their lackluster pass rush at this point in the season, honestly.

Predicton - Smart money is on the Packers. But I have this sick feeling that the Vikings are gonna pull one out of their you know what somehow. Vikings by a point in this one. Yes, this is my upset of the week!

Jets at Chiefs -

I won't lie, I thought about just leaving this off my predictions, because this should be a bloodbath from the start. The Jets are really bad and the Cheifs are really really good. The Jets are consider (by many) the worst team in the NFL and their record speak for itself! I really don't give the Jets a shot in hell in this one. I really don't believe that they can even beat the Cheifs backup players, honestly.

Honestly, what I said up above is pretty much all you need to know about this game. You don't need me to tell you how good this Kansas City team is, as being the defending Super Bowl champs tells you a lot. And we all know how bad the Jets are!

Prediction - Kansas City by a lot!
