Fantasy Nascar Picks (Kentucky)

Welcome to TimersSports

Well Daytona wasn't too friendly to most of my fantasy picks (again), but that plate racing for you! Sometimes you get really luck or sometimes half of your picks get caught up in a major wreck. But let not feel sorry for ourselves! Let's move onto Kentucky and try to rebound. That should be a challenge, too! Not only are we looking a reconfigured (and repaved) Kentucky Speedway, but we also will be dealing with practice hours during the day and racing under the lights. It is tough to predict which cars will be fast and which ones will pretenders. On top of that, we are using the low-downforce package again as well. So there will be a lot of factors to take into consideration when making our fantasy picks.

Yahoo Fantasy Picks -

A:

Start - Kyle Busch (7)

Bench - Joey Logano (6)

Reasons - This was a tough decision overall with both Busch and Logano as likely contenders in Saturday night race. I decded to roll with Kyle Busch because of his performance this season on this type of track (1.5 mile) and how the track time he have gotten this weekend. I also took into consideration I had more starts with the 18 than I had with the 22 as well.

B:

Start - Carl Edwards (5),  Martin Truex Jr (6)

Bench - Kyle Larson (5), Ryan Newman (5)

Reasons - I made a late change on Thursday night (didn't get to update this page), the swap was Martin Truex Jr for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. I made this decision because I felt like I would be wasting starts with Edwards and Busch, if I didn't have Truex as an option. So I am going with the All studs lineup that includes Truex and Edwards. I really want to go with Larson, but I am down to 5 starts with him. I think he is going to stay hot over the next couple weeks, so I will him then.

C:

Start - Chase Elliott (5)

Bench - Ty Dillon (6)

Reasons - I planned to use Ty Dillon this week, but after doing some thinking I decided to roll an all-studs lineup at Kentucky. So I am going to use Elliott and hope to score max points in Yahoo. Elliott is fast enough where I feel pretty comfortable that he will least finish inside the top 10

Fantasy Live - 18,78,42,34 and 14

Reasons - At top of my lineup will be the Gibbs cars of Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. I think both of them will be fast at Kentucky Speedway, so I am rolling with them both. I considered going with Harvick on Truex, but I didn't have the money for that. Larson and Smoke will be good plays from mid-pack, more so Larson than Smoke. The 42 has top 5 potential and is probably a bargain considering his price is only 21.5. Then, I need one driver to fill-out my roster. So I went with Chris Buescher. He starts from 34th, I think he can move up there from there.

Sleeper - Jamie Mac

Winner - Martin Truex Jr
