Fantasy Nascar Picks (Daytona)

Welcome to Timerssports

Happy Wednesday everyone. We are dealing with Daytona this weekend. One of the most difficult races on the schedule. Below represents my selection of picks (with logical reasoning).

*Note - This post will be updated throughout the week/weekend!

Yahoo Fantasy Racing -

A-list tier:

Starter: 88) Dale Jr
Bench: 20) Matt Kenseth

Logic - Dale jr will get the nod as starter for Saturday night. His percentage is almost 60%. Which means , if you don't start him. Then you will either gain a ton of points or lose a ton of points.

B-list tier:

Bench: 11) Denny Hamlin
Starter: 16) Greg Biffle
Starter: 17) Ricky Stenhouse Jr
Bench: 27) Paul Menard

Logic - I carefully thought out my plan in B this week. I planned to start the two Roush cars since Monday and I have seen nothing that should change that. So I will gamble a bit (especially with Ricky low percentage). Menard role this weekend will be possible qualifying points (didn't work out as I thought).Hamlin would get the start, but there some fantastic tracks coming up for him.

C-list tier:

Starter: 10) Danica Patrick
Bench:    3) Austin Dillon

Logic - Danica didn't turn many heads in the lone practice session. But I don't like to overeact to practices at Talladega and Daytona. So I will stick with my gut.

Fantasy Live - Jimmie Johnson, Dale Jr , Michael McDowell , Greg Biffle and Michael Waltrip

Logic - My intentions in Fantasy Live is to start a few drivers from near the back. Along with a few which start near the front (just in case there a early wreck on the opening laps). If I play my cards right , I will have escape Daytona looking good.

Race Winner Pick - Dale Jr

Logic - I could have put all 43 drivers in a hat and choose at random. But instead I went with history. And history says Dale Jr will be one of the strongest contenders on Saturday night.

Dark Horse Pick - Kyle Busch

Logic - Busch is easily one of most underrated plate racers in the field. He will race to the front , lead laps , and have one of the strongest cars. But unfortunately his record doesn't show that. Believe me , if he within striking distance of the lead on the final lap. He may be the odds on favorite to win Saturday.

Check back before Saturday night race and this post should be updated.
