Fantasy Nascar Sleepers & Busts

Welcome to TimersSports

We are headed to Daytona this weekend. So dust off the old dart boards for the summer most unpredictable crapshoot. Players whom are contenders for championships can become non-existance with one bad move this weekend. Likewise for struggling individuals. Which is the beauty of plate racing. Truly the ultimate equalizer. So grab a few Budweisers and let get started!

Sleeper:

Ricky Stenhouse Jr- My plan is simple in the B-list (Yahoo Fantasy Racing) this week. Just run the fairly reliable Roush cars. Something about Daytona and Talladega , they find ways to finish well at. Ricky worst finish at Daytona is 20th. Also worth mentioning he have knocked 3 straight Top 10s at plate races. Nothing is certain , but consistent trends can help you get a slight advantage.

Bust:

Jamie Mac -  As I predicted , people putted too much stock into JMac after Sonoma. And like most things came crashing down with impact (37th place finish) at Kentucky. Now we at Daytona. Unfortunately JMac ends up on the bust list again. People needs to realize he gonna finish really great or really bad. He have potential this weekend. I won't deny that. But I feel like the risk isn't worth the reward.

Sleeper:

Denny Hamlin - Shockingly not enough of players are taking notice of Denny Hamlin dominates at plate races/activities. He been unstoppable with an 1.5 average finish. On yahoo , his percentage should be on pace to crack 55%. Unfortunately that doesn't look like as of Tuesday with 38%. Hamlin is my pick to win at Daytona this weekend.

Bust :

Trevor Bayne - Bayne is so predictable at Daytona its hilarious. After his 2011 win , he an consistent wrecking machine here. He rarely is able finish inside the top 25 at plate races. Simply because he isn't a good drafter. He was better as tandem drafter. Don't get fooled. Take my word one this one.

Sleeper:

Clint Bowyer - Most people don't realize how reliable Bowyer truly is. He is vastly more well known at Talladega. But he have wheeled off 3 Top 15 in past 5 here. Including an 4th last year. I don't hate using Clint , if I were deep down in the basement of my league.

Bust :

Kevin Harvick - Harvick is inconsistent at both Daytona and Talladega. He will be a strong contender , but where finishes is the unknown mystery. Actually that been the unknown question at every race in 2014 since Las Vegas. I think he definitely could win , but I also think he can finish dead last as well. Especially if the pit crew get in his head.

Well that's it. Nothing can be certain at Daytona. But I expect to knock off a few of my predictions. Hopefully everyone does well this weekend.
