Fantasy Nascar Update (RIR)

Welcome to Timerssports

Notes -

1-JMac: Jamie was consistent I would say. He didn't show blistering speed , but looks good enough to an top 15 option (if not top 10). JM could be a nice start save in Yahoo.

2-Brad Keselowski: BK will start from the pole. Not sure how he feared on the long run , but I am confident he was solid. Keselowski could definitely end in VL on Sunday.

3-Austin Dillon: Dillon is always hard to read. I expect he is good enough for a top 25 , but that's about it. Dillon seems to do better on the faster tracks. There a lot of them coming up.

4-Kevin Harvick: Harvick was bad fast. He was like lighting late into a run. Folks don't fool with  Mr.Freaky Fast. He had the car to beat on Friday in practice and will start 4th.

5-Kasey Kahne: Kahne was good overall. Not top 5 potential though. Richmond haven't been a great track overall , but there are worse choices. Kahne have top 10 upside. Realistically he an top 15 option. Or maybe a little outside of that.

10-Danica Patrick: Danica have some mojo and she definitely could surprise some people with another strong run. She start well inside the top 20. An finish between 17th - 24th  is likely for her.

11-Denny Hamlin: JGR didn't show the speed in practice. But typically they been lights out in night races in 2014. I believe its gonna be a boom or nothing type race for Hamlin and his JGR teammates.

15-Clint Bowyer: Bowyer was pretty darn good in practice 1. He seems really happy with the car. Weather he can be trusted is a whole other story though. Start him , if you must.

16-Greg Biffle: The Biff looked just outside the top 10 on the speed charts. Most times at RIR , Greg is just about outside of the top 10. So no surprise there. Start him , given you can deal with a lesser finish. Then say someone like Penske.

18-Kyle Busch: Rowdy been just horrible lately. You don't want to know his average finish since Indianapolis. Its bad. In practice on Friday , he seems to be searching for speed. Like his teammates. Busch starts 20th for Saturday.

20-Matt Kenseth: Kenseth starts 16th. He was a little better then his teammates , but still not what I was expecting. I believe the JGR cars are setup for night (least hope so). They all lacking speed on Friday.

22-Joey Logano: JoLo looks to be top 5 (or close to it). Logano starts 5th. He shown nice long run speed. Should be a good option for Saturday.

24-Jeff Gordon: Gordon was not totally happy with his car in practice and still qualifies on the front row. If Alan get Jeff perfect , the field could be in huge trouble. He's top 5 heading in.

27-Paul Menard: Menard starts 14th , I think he will surprise people with another nice run on Saturday. Paul is vastly underrated. He lacked long run speed though. Realistically an top 15 option.

31-Ryan Newman: Newman needs to finish least 41th. Shouldn't be too hard , right? Newman starts 12th for Saturday. He was troublesome on the long run though in practice. It was a concern to me. Still an top 15 car overall.

42-Kyle Larson: Larson starts inside the top 10. Been fast in every practice session. I don't think he finishes there. Honestly I feel like Richmond isn't the ideal place for him to win (or score an top 5). His value is trash (in most formats) with starting so close to the front. Also isn't worth an allocation in limited usage leagues. The worn out 1.5 milers is where he will shine at.

48-Jimmie Johnson: Johnson qualified up front at Richmond. Jimmie seemed shocked. I was a little surprise too. Richmond is one of his worst tracks. He looked good all day on Friday. I think ole JJ is starting to come to form. Not what the other 42 drivers wanted to hear.

55-Brain Vickers: Vickers wrecked his primary car in final practice (on Friday afternoon). Had to go to an backup. To me Vickers isn't worth a start at Richmond. His inconsistency brings down his value overall. Wasn't quite as happy with his backup as his primary. There was a reason why he selected that specific car as his primary.

88-Dale Jr: Dale wasn't bad at all. He was strong on the long run , so moving to the front isn't the problem. The potential of him getting caught up in someone else's mess is my biggest concern. Nevertheless he should be least an top 10 option.

99-Carl Edwards: Edwards looked good all day on Friday. He will start 10th and could potential better his position. He made no long runs in practice (real shocker). Edwards is between an 7th to 15th place guy. Just wish RFR cars would do some long runs in practice.
